American government ordered Kit Carson to confine them but the Navajo opposed and Carson decided to kill the Navajo cattle as well as destroying their property and crops. The Navajo had no food and starved making them agree and were taken to the reservation in the New Mexico. In 1872 there was another Indian war that involved the tribe of Modoc. Kintpuash with Modoc group started to leave the Klamath reservation to go back t their native land which was California. This led to a fight between the Modoc and the soldier troops. The Modoc became outnumbered and were later forced to surrender to the American army.
